The Chmer CM545Z Die Sinker EDM is a high-precision machine designed for various EDM applications, offering an affordable solution for single cavity molds or short-run EDM production. Unlike manual die sinkers, the CM545Z features a programmable Z-axis with conversational EZ control. This control system includes built-in cutting technology, allowing users to select the correct cutting parameters based on electrode type, workpiece material, electrode shape, and desired surface finish. The machine then automatically selects the optimal cutting technology.

The CM545Z also includes the optional Loran orbitor, which provides X and Y lateral movements to the Z-axis, enabling the expansion of cavities and improving surface finishes. This feature is particularly useful for complex machining tasks, such as inserting threads into hard metals using threaded electrodes and circular orbits.
